The month of November is coming to an end and most smartphone manufacturers are now looking towards 2025. This is the case for Samsung, which should take advantage of the start of the year to lift the veil on its new series of Galaxy smartphones S. Information is surging about the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the next flagship of the series.
Thanks to images published by leakers @Jukanlosreve et @OnLeakswe now know a little more about the design of the band’s future flagship model. After the 3D renderings, these supposed photos of the Galaxy S25 Ultra show a slight design change which should improve the grip. Samsung has definitely found the formula for its premium model and the challenge now is to stay one step ahead of its Chinese pursuers and compete with the iPhone. The Ultra variant has taken over from the Galaxy Note range for several years, opting for straight lines and a very sober look. The latest model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, offers very angular corners and slightly rounded edges.

The future Galaxy S25 Ultra would go in the opposite direction by benefiting from flatter edges and more rounded corners. Choices which should allow the brand’s flagship to move away from this very raw side and improve handling. Indeed, the very angular corners of the Galaxy S24 Ultra can hinder use. The stylus has long been the reason for those rectangular corners, but Samsung seems to have found a way to round the corners.
The back of the device is not left out since the images suggest the presence of a photo block with a style closer to the Galaxy Z Fold6 than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the developments are more discreet and the location of the sensors would be identical. It is rumored that the ultra wide angle of the Galaxy S25 Ultra would increase to 50 Mpx, compared to 12 Mpx currently. The rest of the configuration would be similar, starting with the presence of the same 200 Mpx sensor as on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Other features should not change on the new model either.
In addition to the developments visible from these images, it is rumored that the Galaxy S flagship would offer thinner borders and that it would be less thick. A weight loss would also be expected and could allow the smartphone to drop below the 230 g mark. The current Galaxy S24 Ultra weighs 232 or 233 g depending on the version chosen.
A style closer to the iPhone (and the Pixel 9)?
The changes, if confirmed, made to the Galaxy S25 Ultra would bring the smartphone closer to its current main rivals. The latest iPhones or the recent Google Pixel 9 offer flat borders and slightly rounded corners. As our colleague Kyle Bar from Gizmodothe only way to distinguish smartphones from major American brands and to look at the “bumps” of the camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could also join them, just like the Honor Magic7 Pro unveiled in China. Like every year, the Ultra model should arrive with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
