Like every year, certain models will celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2025. This advanced age offers them, in France, a special status: that of classic car !

New collector cars coming

Thanks to the gray card collectionthese cars will now be able to benefit from several advantages such as a more frequent technical inspection (every 5 years), specific insurance, the possibility of installing period registration plates, or even the possibility of driving in ZFEs ( Low Emission Zones), despite their lack of classification with the Crit’Air sticker.

In 1995, many models from all brands were released, and for some of them you won’t even imagine that they are already 30 years old! These include sports cars with a timeless look like the BMW Z3presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1995 and which was marketed until 2002. The second model of the “Z” range (for “Zukunft”, the future in German) is the first successful BMW roadster. , particularly on the American market where it was produced. In total, almost 280,000 examples were manufactured at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

These models will be able to obtain the collection registration document in 2025

The Fiat Barchetta also presented at the Geneva auto show in 1995: more discreet than its German rival, it was only produced in around 58,000 units until 2005. This Italian roadster is based on the platform of the Fiat Punto of 1993 whose wheelbase was shortened, and is powered by a 1.7 liter 130 horsepower engine coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, a unit which also fitted the Fiat Coupé.

The prancing horse manufacturer will also celebrate in 2025 the 30th anniversary of a car that does not look its age: the Ferrari F50which was launched in 1995. This road supercar benefits from technologies developed for racing by Ferrari, and is equipped with a 4.7-liter V12 engine developing a whopping 520 horsepower. The worthy heir to the F40, and predecessor to the Ferrari Enzo, is a true rarity prized by collectors. In fact, only 349 examples of the F50 were produced: it now fetches several million euros, and is regularly the star of auctions.

Among the other cars born in 1995 which will be able to benefit from the collection registration document in 2025, we can also cite the MG F, the Renault Spider, the Ferrari F355 Spider, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder… Many discoverable models, but let’s not also forget two stars of our French market: the Renault Megane first generation as well as the Peugeot 406both launched in the fall of 1995.
