THEY DO NOT FORGIVE RACISM IN CHELSEA! Proceedings have been initiated against the Argentinian football player

English football club Chelsea has initiated internal disciplinary proceedings against Argentinian player Enzo Fernandez after he published a video on social media that, according to the French Football Federation, included alleged “racist and discriminatory” chants, reports the BBC.

The French federation announced on Tuesday that it will file a complaint with the governing body of the International Football Federation (FIFA) over a video showing a song sung by some players from the Argentina team about France players.

Fernandez’s Chelsea team-mate Wesley Fofana, who has one cap for France, posted a picture of the video on Instagram describing it as “unbridled racism”.

The Argentinian soccer player said he was “really sorry” for the video he posted while Argentina was celebrating winning the Copa América.

– The song contains very offensive language and there is absolutely no excuse for these words. I stand against discrimination in all forms and I apologize for getting caught up in the euphoria of our Copa America celebration. That video, those moments, those words do not reflect my beliefs or my character – said Fernandez.

Chelsea assessed that any form of discrimination is completely unacceptable.

– We acknowledge and appreciate our player’s public apology and will use this as an opportunity for education. The club initiated an internal disciplinary procedure. They consider all forms of discriminatory behavior completely unacceptable. We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive club where people from all cultures, communities and identities are welcome – the club announced.

The French football federation will contact the Argentine federation over a video Fernandez posted on social media after Argentina beat Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America final on Sunday.

In a press release from the French Federation, it is stated that President Philippe Diallo “condemns in the strongest terms the unacceptable and discriminatory remarks made against the players of the French team”.

– Faced with the seriousness of these shocking remarks, contrary to the values of sport and human rights, the president of the Federation has decided to complain directly to his Argentinian colleague and FIFA and to file a legal complaint for racially offensive and discriminatory remarks – the statement of the French Federation reads.

The Argentinian federation has not announced yet. Chelsea have seven players from France who are black or mixed race in their first team – Fofana, Aksel Disasi, Benoit Badijašil, Lesli Ugochukwu, Kristofer Nkunku, Malo Gusto and Malang Sar.

Argentina defeated France in the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
