They haven’t played this yet. The most expensive smartphones are the most popular

The surprising data was published by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. It’s about the average price of purchased iPhones – it has never been so high.

Discussions about whether iPhones are expensive or not have been going on since the day they debuted. This year, thanks to the dollar conversion rate, the top devices in Apple’s offer are cheaper on our market than in recent years. However, this does not change the fact that many users do not choose the basic versions of the device – but those with slightly larger memory. Thanks to this, the average price for the device increased – and it exceeded one thousand dollars for the first time on the American market.

Prices have not changed, user needs have changed

According to the latest report, this year the iPhone managed to break a record – and the average retail price of the device is $1,018. We are talking about the last quarter after the debut of the latest smartphones from the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max lines. According to data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), this unexpected increase in the average retail price is primarily the result of greater interest in the most expensive models with extended data memory.

Consumers are regularly choosing more and more powerful smartphones, which is why the average price is regularly increasing. In the last quarter, as much as 47% of all Apple smartphones sold were Pro and Pro Max models. They recorded a 38% increase compared to the same period last year.

Looking at the above data, it is clear how much the needs and thinking of users are changing. Replacing a smartphone every few years is becoming a standard, which is why many people choose solutions that will allow them to comfortably enjoy the equipment much longer. The issue of a better screen and better cameras is probably also important. And better video and photo quality requires even more memory for data – the effects of which are clearly visible.
