North Korean authorities are ordering each organization to strengthen propaganda in order to implement the decision of the 11th plenary session of the 8th Party Central Committee. According to Daily NK’s North Pyongan Province source on the 9th, the North Korean authorities delivered the goals for each organization according to the results of the plenary meeting at the end of last month to each institution and enterprise and instructed them to accelerate economic agitation to achieve the goals by the 10th.
Accordingly, the Party Committee of Rakwon Machinery Corporation, located in Rakwon-dong, Sinuiju, is carrying out propaganda and agitation projects to boost the morale of workers, setting expansion of production of large-scale construction machinery and equipment as the goal determined by the plenary meeting.
The source said, “Since the provincial art troupe and the art propaganda unit within the enterprise jointly held a New Year’s performance, propaganda activities have continued every morning on the way to work,” adding, “A broadcasting van was placed in front of the main entrance of the enterprise and 30 minutes of economic propaganda music and slogans were performed.” “Propaganda workers are dancing to the rhythm and livening up the atmosphere,” he said.
In order to appeal for dedication to implementing the party’s policies, North Korea sets up propaganda units at each enterprise and makes them sing propaganda songs and shout slogans on the way to work, during lunch hours, or during work hours.
In relation to this, the enterprise party committee is known to have previously emphasized the role and mission of the propaganda unit, saying, “It is essential to inspire revolutionary enthusiasm among workers (cadres) and workers in the struggle for the comprehensive development of socialist construction.”
