What to visit in Faro?
The town of Faro is one of the most recognized in Portugal and has various places that are quite interesting to visit.
- Desert Island or Barreta Island: It has fine sand and crystal clear water that makes it a small paradise area where tranquility reigns. To visit it, you need to take a boat from the port of Faro and the transfer takes about 40 minutes.
- Visit Faro Beach: It has several restaurants and bars along its promenade and can be reached by boat or car.
- Get to know its historic center: Also known as Vila Adentro. It can be covered in two hours.
- Tour the old wall of Faro: Dated from the Roman period.
- Faro Cathedral: It was built shortly after Alfonso III conquered Faro and is in the Gothic style. The entrance fee is three euros.
