They still couldn’t get the Hungarian hiker stuck in the Slovenian Kamniki Alps down from the mountain

Even after three days, they could not rescue the Hungarian hiker who had an accident in the Slovenian Kamnik Alps on Sunday, writes the Telex referring to the Facebook post of the Slovenian Mountain Rescue Association (GRZS) on Wednesday afternoon. It is understood that the man fell and broke his leg. His companion, a woman, was already brought down from the mountain on Monday, but she herself has not been found, it is suspected that she may be lost in the Kotliska gorge. On Wednesday morning, a rescue unit set out to search for him with a helicopter, but due to the strong wind, they were unable to reach the area today. The GRZS gave an explanation for this with the harsh weather conditions, i.e. a significant amount of snow piled up in the gorge due to the wind, so there is a high risk of avalanches. The rescue will continue on Thursday.

As we wrote, the rescue unit that started to look for the man turned back once on Tuesday due to the strong wind. Jernej Lanišek said his partner was spotted from a helicopter in the gorge on Monday, and with the help of a doctor and a mountain rescue rope, he descended 50 meters down a rock face to reach him. The woman was not injured, but was hypothermic.

They also found the other Hungarian hiker in the Slovenian Kamniki Alps, but they cannot approach him
