A new shooting alerted the residents of the El Torrejón neighborhood of Huelva this morning, the third in just a month and a half, after the one recorded on September 10, which cost the life of one person, and the one in the afternoon last Thursday in which, as in this last one, there were no personal injuries.

As reported to EFE by the Emergency 112 Andalucía service, around 2:50 a.m. several calls warned that they had heard “what appeared to be gunshots” in Plaza Violeta, the same scene in which the two previous incidents were recorded. although they claimed not to have seen anything.

The Local and National Police were notified, the agents of the latter security body confirming to 112 that in the area “there were traces that there had been a shooting in the area”, while reporting that there were no injured people and that there were no clues as to the possible author or authors of the same. The National Police set up a security perimeter in the area and the Local Police proceeded to regulate traffic.

The trigger: a brawl between two families

The trigger for this series of incidents in the Plaza Violeta in El Torrejón took place on September 10 when, in the context of a fight between two families in the neighborhood, a shootout occurred that left one dead and two injured. A month later, the shooter was arrested in Gijón and remains in the Asturias provincial prison.

Despite the attempts of the National Police to call for calm and to avoid new incidents following the first shooting, last Thursday two people on a motorcycle shot at the facade of the detainee’s family, collecting up to 30 bullet casings in the area. , and this morning there was a third shooting of which, for the moment, no further details have been released.
