A year after its release in Japan, Godzilla: Minus One is released in French cinemas this weekend in a brand new version. But another big news awaits fans of the feature film.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters soon to return?

The year 2023 will have been a particularly rich year for Japanese soft-power. This latest film marks the return of the King of Monsters to his country of origin seven years after the excellent Shin Godzilla of the duo behind Neon Genesis Evangelion et Nadia, the secret of blue water : Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi. Reconnecting with the origins of Godzilla, dealing directly with atomic destruction, but also with the thorny subject of kamikazes, Godzilla: Minus One experienced a real triumph both in Japan and internationallythanks to an effective storyline and impressive special effects, despite an estimated budget of $15 million and a very limited release.

While Godzilla: Minus One will be released in French theaters this weekend in its Minus Color version (black and white), before being released in physical format (Blu-Ray and DVD) in December by AllTheAnime, insider Daniel Richtman tells us that Takashi Yamazaki is already working on a new film Godzilla. Such delightful news, especially since the filmmaker had very early on stated his desire to make another film dedicated to the King of the Kaiju.
