Apple continues with its particular beta schedule and a week ago the second beta for developers of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 was launched, the next major update of iOS 18 that does not include any major new features. This update is expected to arrive in the coming weeks, most likely before the end of January. Will you end up scrapping the idea or postponing it for iOS 19?
Apple Invite or Invitations, the possible new app for the Big Apple
WWDC highlights Apple’s big intentions in new software for next year. This is what happened at WWDC24 with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Almost all the new features of these systems were presented and little by little all these functions and new features are being released in future updates, especially taking into account the Apple Intelligence implementation plan. However, at WWDC24 nothing was said about a new application called Apple Invite or Invitations.

Apple starts 2025 with new iOS 18.3 Betas
The team of 9to5mac has analyzed the source code of the second beta for developers of iOS 18.3 and has found signs of a new application to organize events which could be called Apple Invite. This reference was already present in the code of the first betas of iOS 18.2, but it was removed in the following updates, until the second beta of iOS 18.3 that we are facing right now.
The information suggested by the source code is that it will be an app created for organize events and meetings that will allow invite users and confirm attendance to said events. Obviously it is unknown if it will be an independent app or if it will be an addition to the Calendar app. What it does seem is that it could be integrated with iCloud.com and the Messages app to be able to port the invitations beyond the Apple environment. Furthermore, the app makes use of the GroupKit framework that allows you to use databases for groups of people, a new framework that Apple has not used since its launch.
We’ll see if all this code is Apple’s internal testing, signs of future plans, or if we’ll see it in upcoming iOS 18 updates or even iOS 19. Who knows!
