Samsung Galaxy A devices will soon charge faster
The Galaxy A smartphones are very popular due to their good price-quality ratio, but they are lagging behind in one area. We are talking about the charging speed, because Samsung has been opting for a maximum speed of 25 watts for years. That won’t be the case in 2024, because almost all midrange phones charge faster.
This will finally change next year with the Samsung Galaxy A56, according to the usually reliable Sammobile. The website reports that the A56 has turned up in a Chinese database, which shows that the smartphone can charge with a maximum of 45 watts. That is a significant improvement compared to the current Galaxy A devices.
In fact, the Galaxy A56 will be the first Galaxy A phone that can charge at 45 watts. Devices such as the Samsung A55, A35 and even the more expensive S24 do not exceed 25 watts. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung’s absolute top device at the moment, can handle the higher charging speed.
What else we know about the Galaxy A56
If we can believe the latest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy A56 will receive more major upgrades. The phone is said to have a faster chip in the form of the Exynos 1580. The A56 also probably has a better 12 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The lens would mainly capture more light.
Furthermore, the expected midranger can count on a better update policy. The Galaxy A56 will reportedly receive Android upgrades and security patches for six years, just like the recently released Galaxy A16. That’s a nice upgrade over the Samsung A55, which receives four major Android updates and five years of security patches.
It is not known when Samsung will present the Galaxy A56 (and A36), but it will most likely happen in March 2025. The price is also unclear, although we think that the A56 will be about as expensive as its predecessor. The Galaxy A55 has a suggested retail price of 479 euros, but you can now get it for just €298.
