This football year belongs to the red and yellow. The French took over late, Spain dominated the Olympics after the EURO – OH Paris 2024 – Summer Olympics

Spain’s soccer players won the Olympic tournament in Paris. In Friday’s final in the Park of the Princes, they won over the host France 5:3 after extra time. Bronze medals were won by the Moroccans after a 6-0 triumph over Egypt.

The African representative is enjoying his first ever Olympic medal, following on from his successful performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he finished fourth.

The Spaniards won the second gold in the men’s football tournament under the five rings, having succeeded for the first time in 1992 on home soil in Barcelona.

From then until now, no European representative has won the Olympic tournament. The Spanish also have three silver medals from the Olympics (1920, 2000, 2020) and confirmed that this year belongs to them.

Their big club Real Madrid won the Champions League in June and “La Furia Roja” became European champions in Germany.

The Spaniards did not start the final duel ideally. In the 11th minute, they were losing after Millot’s goal, but then their moments came. With two goals by F. Lopez and one by Baena, they beat the opponent to 3:1.

They were most effective when four shots on goal were enough for them to turn around. After the change of sides, the French pressed into the attack and waited until Akliouche scored a contact goal in the 78th minute and equalized Matet from the eleven in extra time.

In extra time, the Spaniards had more power, their triumph was decided by two goals from substitute Camello.
