Lynk & Co, the company we know from the plug-in hybrid 01 that drives around in the Netherlands, is launching a fully electric car in our country for the first time: the 02. With a starting price of 35,995 euros, the new EV is competitively priced in comparison with competitors.
Lynk & Co, which, like Volvo, is part of parent company Geely, announced its first electric car earlier this year. The Z10 did not come to the Netherlands, but that is now being added of 02 change in. The five-door hatchback can be ordered from today, also in our country.
Range
The 02 looks like a Polestar and Volvo rolled into one and, according to Lynk & Co, has a driving range of 445 kilometers. The inside of the car has a fairly minimalist design, with a large screen in the middle of the dashboard. Behind the steering wheel, which is flat at the bottom, there is also a smaller screen for the driver.
“The all-new 02 represents the next phase for Lynk & Co,” CEO Nicolas López Appelgren said in a press release. “We are expanding our business model, expanding our product portfolio and entering new markets. These strategic steps underline our commitment to more choice, flexibility and accessibility for our customers.”
Customers have contributed ideas about the 02
According to the company, customers of Lynk & Co had a lot of influence on the development of the 02. Through messages via an app in the 01, they gave their opinion about the functions they would like to see in the new car.
The Lynk & Co 02 is 4.46 meters long, 1.84 meters wide and 1.57 meters high. This makes it larger than, for example, the Volvo EX30, which is also a lot more expensive. The entry-level model of the Volvo EX30 also has a smaller 51 kWh battery than the 66 kWh battery in the 02.
The 02 has 272 hp and, according to Lynk & Co, goes from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.5 seconds. The trunk offers 410 liters of space.
In two variants
The 02 can be ordered in two variants: Core and More. The Core variant is the basic model, including 19-inch rims and recycled PET upholstery. The More variant has vegan leather upholstery and 20-inch rims. Both models can fast charge at 150 kW.
Unlike the 01, the 02 is not available in a subscription form. You can rent the 01 on a monthly terminable basis and re-rent it to others. This year, Lynk & Co already implemented a third price increase for that rental. The 02 is only for sale or rental.
