Since the release of iOS 18 two weeks ago, a new trend has emerged among iPhone users. New iOS features enable home screen layouts that resemble a bookshelf.
With iOS 18, home screens can be made more personal in new ways. For example, app icons can now take up any free space on the home screen and no longer have to fill the entire screen. If you want apps to be at the bottom of the screen, but not at the top, you can now do that. You can also hide app names and make app icons larger.
Have these options according to 9to5Mac led to a new trend among iPhone users: home screens that resemble bookshelves. To do this, use a background with an image of a bookshelf, with app icons spread across the different shelves. That looks pretty cute.

Templates and videos
It is not yet a real viral trend, but more and more posts and videos about it have appeared in recent days. There are already special sellers on Etsy bookshelf templates sales that you can personalize. And in explanation videos you can see how you can make a beautiful bookshelf background yourself.

Will Apple go along with it?
Many of those wallpapers are very reminiscent of Apple’s old iBooks design. Apple may offer more options in a future iOS update to make your apps even more attractive in a virtual bookcase.
