This is How the BAIC BJ40 Plus Hangs Out in Mining Areas

DAPURPACUID – BAIC Indonesia is taking advantage of the Mining Indonesia 2024 exhibition to showcase the BJ40 Plus Mining Edition, with the ability to tackle various offroad terrains.

At the exhibition which was part of the Indonesia Energy & Engineering Series at JIEXPO, Kemayoran, Jakarta, 11-14 September, this model was believed to answer the needs of contractors, especially in the mining area.

Carrying a boxy design, the BAIC BJ40 Plus was previously displayed at the 2024 GIIAS automotive exhibition in Tangerang, and was able to attract a positive response from visitors.

The BJ40 Plus Mining Series comes with the standardization of vehicles operating in mining areas, namely a white vehicle body with yellow or red reflective strips.

Supported by additional lights on the roof of the car, rotating lights, plus the use of standard mining flagpoles 4.5 – 6 meters high, which facilitate visibility among other mining vehicles of much larger size.

The toughness of the BJ40 Plus in mining areas is supported by the performance of a 4-cylinder, 16-valve, 2,000 cc, DOHC petrol engine plus turbocharger, combined with an 8-speed transmission from the renowned German transmission factory, ZF Friedrichshafen.

The configuration produces 221 hp with a maximum torque of 380 Nm. This 4×4 wheel drive vehicle is also supported by the Center differential Lock from the German Borg-Wagner Factory.

In its first appearance at the GIIAS Tangerang series, last July, BAIC Indonesia was able to record BJ40 Plus orders of 80 percent of the total SPKs recorded, namely 136 units, or 108 units.

PT JIO Distribusi Indonesia (JDI) as BAIC’s partner for unit sales in Indonesia, promises to immediately assemble the model locally.

This was also confirmed by the Chief Operating Officer of PT JDI, Dhani Yahya, who said that his party hopes that the BJ40 Plus can be assembled locally at the end of this year (2024).

“Later it will be assembled in SKD (Semi Knocked Down). That way the price can drop significantly because it is assembled locally in Indonesia,” he added.

For your information, BAIC Indonesia officially released the price tag for the BJ40 Plus, which is currently imported directly from Beijing, at IDR 793 million on the road (OTR) Jakarta.

Dhani also appreciated the great positive public interest in BAIC products that were recently introduced to the Indonesian market through the 2024 GIIAS event.

“This further builds our optimism for BAIC’s future development in Indonesia. This enthusiasm even attracted three new investors at once who will soon add to BAIC Indonesia’s dealer network in Makassar, Semarang and Jogjakarta,” he explained.

To further introduce the BAIC product range to the Indonesian public, it is scheduled to continue to be present among Indonesian consumers through various events and exhibitions spread across various cities in Indonesia.

“We can’t wait to meet potential consumers from various cities in Indonesia, who are believed to provide a positive response to the products we offer,” he concluded. (dpid/TH)
