This is how the new BMW M5 can become even meaner

You have just ordered your new BMW-M5 and are you ready to transform its bodywork? The German manufacturer has wasted no time and about a month after the model’s debut presents the official accessories signed M Performance.

This long series of components makes the 727 hp plug-in hybrid sedan even more aggressive, giving it the look of a true racing car.

Carbon Fiber Treatment

A good part of the so-called “M Performance Parts” are made of carbon fiber, to try not to further weigh down the almost 2.5 tons. From the splitter to the double diffuser, the M5’s aesthetics are now really sharp. And the fuel cap and the side inserts on the bumpers are also made of carbon.

In addition to these components, the new M5 can be equipped with matt black side decals and light-alloy wheels. Rounding out the package of upgrades are also the exhaust terminals (made from a combination of titanium and carbon fibre) complete with embossed “M5” lettering.

Towards a new M5 CS?

We remind you that in addition to the M Performance accessories, you can order the BMW with a series of optional packages that include the carbon roof (30 kg lighter than the standard one) and carbon ceramic brakes (-25 kg).

It must also be said that to have a truly lighter M5 we will have to wait for a possible version CSwhich could be launched in the next few years and which could have these options as standard, in addition to the carbon shell seats (currently not present on the new M5).

In the previous generation, this special variant had reduced weight by 230 kg compared to the M5 Competition. The same could happen with the new model, but we will have to wait a little longer to have confirmation.
