In 2025, there was no time that the price of fuel did not rise when a change was announced. The latest change came into effect on the very day this article was published, January 11 – Saturday.
In addition to the ever-increasing amounts, it is not at all surprising if more and more people start looking at fuel prices and counting kilometers to see where it is worth going to refuel with the least financial loss. However, there is also a less often mentioned part of the price competition: the difference between the price posted on the well post and the price that is actually paid.
In Hungary, it is possible to pay less at a lot of gas stations than the price indicated on the fuel column. Several large well networks run various loyalty programs and discounts, which can be used to slightly reduce the amount spent on fuel – moreover, locally, immediately.
