This is how you use app pairs in Android 15 and multitask even better

Android 15 comes with a number of useful features, including saving app pairs for faster multitasking. Here you will find out how the function works.

How to set up app pairs on Android 15: this is how you do it

Anyone who likes to run multiple apps at the same time on their Android phone will undoubtedly find the new app pairs on Android 15 a useful feature. This creates shortcuts for two apps that you like to open together. This way you don’t have to reset the shared view every time.

Samsung users may be thinking: this has been possible for a long time, hasn’t it? That’s right, because Samsung has included this function in One UI for years. App pairs were also already available on Android tablets and folding phones, such as the latest Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Now Android smartphone users can also get started with app pairs. Follow the step-by-step plan below.

  1. Open one of the two apps you want to connect;
  2. Go to the ‘recent apps menu’ and click on the app icon above the window;
  3. Then select ‘Split Screen’ and choose one of the other open apps;

    Do you want to use a specific app? Then make sure it is opened in advance.

  4. The apps are now placed one below the other. You can adjust the proportions by moving the white bar in the middle of the screen. Click it twice to switch the app;
  5. Go back to the ‘recent apps menu’ and click on the two icons at the top of the screen’
  6. Finally, choose ‘Save app pair’ and it will appear on your home screen.

The shortcut remembers how you combined the apps. If you open Split View and adjust the proportions, they will be reset as soon as you use the shortcut. Do you want a shortcut no longer visible? Then hold it down and drag it to ‘Delete’ at the top of the screen.
