Vegetable for men
From the content of the article
Doctor, about the best vegetable for men. The risk of prostate cancer increases due to hereditary predisposition, advanced age and poor diet. According to doctors, prostate cancer occurs most often in men over 60-70 years old, in people with a genetic predisposition, as well as in lovers of meat and dairy products.
Oncologist Dr. Alexander Sisoev says a popular summer vegetable that’s available year-round is best for the prostate. This is the tomato.
He also says that such foods contain high amounts of saturated omega-6 acids, which reduce prostate function. At the same time, the large amount of vegetables, fish and soy products in the diet can support the health of the organ, adds the urologist.
The benefits of tomatoes for men’s health
The doctor also called it the main product to prevent prostate cancer and urged people to eat it as often as possible.
“Eating tomato-based foods at least three to four times a week helps men maintain prostate health and feel good. Tomatoes contain an excess of antioxidant lycopene, but during heat treatment, the concentration of this substance does not decrease, but increases to a maximum. This means that the benefits of heat-treated tomatoes for a man’s health are much greater,” he says dr. Sisoev.
Other benefits of tomatoes
- Potassium, which is abundant in tomatoes, improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system and heart activity, and also helps to normalize blood pressure.
- Tomatoes are a powerful antioxidant. For this reason, a diet aimed at protecting the body from degenerative diseases and premature cellular aging of the skin definitely includes tomatoes.
- The antioxidants contained in tomatoes help neutralize free radicals and therefore protect cells from the risks associated with oxidative stress.
- Vitamin C, which is contained in large quantities in tomatoes, is at the top of the list of elements necessary for the proper functioning of the immune system. Tomatoes are rich in this vitamin, so their regular consumption helps strengthen the immune system and protect against typical seasonal diseases. Tomatoes can be eaten raw, dried or cooked, but unlike other plant foods, culinary processing enhances their beneficial properties.
Regular consumption of tomato preparations helps control cholesterol levels and prevents the development of diseases such as osteoporosis.
