Remember Foxtron? This is the brand dedicated to the IT giant’s cars Foxconnwhich produces some of the most commonly used electronic devices, such as iPhone.

But what does this have to do with cars? After removing the veils from the Model B and Model C in recent years, in 2024 the company presents the Model Da maxi minivan designed by Pininfarina.

Just like previous cars, the goal of the project is also to offer to other builderssmall or medium, a new large one platform to purchase and want to modify to your liking to reduce production and design costs.

Foxtron Model D, the exterior

Starting as always with the exterior, the Foxtron Model D is a slightly crossover minivan with rather square shapes. Its dimensions are important, with an overall length of almost 5.20 metersa height of 1.80 meters and a width of 2 meters.

But not only that. What is very interesting, in fact, is above all the data relating to the step, which exceeds the threshold of 3 meters and reaches 3.20 meters: a number that allowed engineers and designers to create the luxurious interior environment that we will talk about shortly.

Foxcon Model, the detail of the wheels

More generally, the bodywork shapes of the model developed by Pininfarina, which as already mentioned can also be used by possible client houses if desired or modified from 10 to 30%, are characterized by lines cute inspired by monoliths.

At the front, for example, there is no shortage of the traditional headlights that we have already seen on the manufacturer’s other models, combined with the rear and new lights also in this case with generous dimensions.

The overall view is therefore from minivan luxurious but still very aerodynamic, thanks to some solutions developed ad hoc, such as a slit that channels the air from the mask to the windshield.

Foxtron Model D, the interior

The interiors are the real protagonists of this new maxi crossover designed by Pininfarina. The interior of the new one Foxtron Model D, in fact, was designed around passengers, with door panels and seats in an almost aeronautical style and lots of on-board technology.

Foxtron Model D, the interior

The general appearance, looking at the first photos disclosed by the company, is vaguely reminiscent of what can be found inside some luxury private jets, with upholstery in skin clear and seats suitable for traveling long distances in complete comfort.

There are total seats 7with two “armchair” style seats on the first and second rows respectively and a more traditional three-seater bench on the third row, which can be lowered if necessary.

Foxtron Model D, the second row of seats

The second row seats, in particular, can be reclined and managed individually through a display located to their side and can recline almost completely thanks to the addition of the comfortable leg rest at the bottom which extracts on command, in chaise longue style.

From the same seats, it is also possible to fully control the Model D’s infotainment system, thanks to the addition of two screens behind the backrests of the front seats which, just like two iPads, can be taken away by passengers if necessary.

Foxtron Model D, the mechanics

In this first preview phase, Foxtron did not go into much detail regarding the powertrain of the new Model D, specifying only a few features.

Among these, for example, the fact that the platform is based on a new 800 volt architecture, with power up to 650 CV in the twin-engine version, battery capacity of approx 110 kWh and an autonomy in the WLTP cycle of approx 660 km and which is already equipped with a system rear wheel steeringprobably designed to make the use of this vehicle with a very large wheelbase easier in a city environment.

Foxtron Model D, prices and arrival in Italy

During the first presentation the company did not go into detail even regarding the price and a possible arrival of the car in Italy, two characteristics that will be established by the various companies that decide to purchase the design basis – which we remember can also be kept as seen in these photos – for a future vehicle.
