This is the High Beam Assist feature on the Hyundai Santa Fe

DAPURPACUID – Use of high beam lights which can disturb other drivers because of the dazzling light, especially for vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for drivers to forget or be late in turning off their high beams, which can cause other drivers to be distracted. Therefore, Hyundai Gowa will provide one of Hyundai’s smart tips with the High Beam Assist feature, which is a feature designed to help drivers in completely dark road conditions.

This technology can be found on the Hyundai SANTA FE, using advanced sensors, High Beam Assist will work automatically to adjust the headlamp range (switching between high beam and low beam) depending on the brightness of the detected vehicle and certain road conditions. This feature relies on the front camera which is used as a detection sensor to detect light and brightness around the vehicle while driving.

Following are the steps to activate High Beam Assist on the Hyundai SANTA FE:
1. Activate from Infotainment System: After turning on the engine, select “Settings” then select “high beam assist” (HBA). This is the first step to using this powerful feature.
2. Position the Light Switch in AUTO Mode: Once the HBA is selected, place the headlight switch in the “AUTO” position. This step ensures that the system can work automatically according to road conditions.
3. Push the Highlight Lever: If the headlamp lever is pulled towards the driver when the high beam is off, the high beam will turn on without deactivating High Beam Assist. When the driver releases the headlamp lever, the lever will move to the center and the high beam will turn off.

The high beam will automatically dim or change to low beam when it detects a vehicle coming from the opposite direction or the taillights of a vehicle in front. That way, drivers can still see the road clearly when conditions are quiet, without worrying about disturbing other drivers when other vehicles pass by.

When the High Beam Assist feature is active, the high beams will only turn on if the vehicle speed is above 40 km/h (25 mph), at vehicle speeds below 25 km/h (15 mph) the high beams will not turn on. In certain circumstances, the high beam will switch to low beam if one of the following conditions occurs, namely when the headlamp or rear light of the vehicle in front is detected, when the headlamp or rear light of a motorbike or bicycle is detected, and when there is sufficient light around the vehicle. bright or there are street lights so high beams are not needed.

When High Beam Assist is not functioning properly, the warning message “Check High Beam Assist (HBA)” or “Check HBA system” will be displayed and a warning light will illuminate on the cluster. If the warning light comes on, it is recommended that the system be checked by an authorized Hyundai Gowa repair shop.
