In less than 24 hours, Audi will reveal the new A5 that will replace the A4, and will be offered in Sportback and Avant body styles.
However, a few minutes ago some official photos of the model were leaked, in each version. The model features full-width taillights, likely incorporating Audi’s latest OLED technology. In addition, the sloping rear window and pronounced spoiler give it a sportier aesthetic, compared to the outgoing A4 Avant.
Speaking about the new A5 family, Audi CEO Gernot Dollner said it will mark the beginning of the company’s next generation of internal combustion engines, which will be more efficient thanks to their partial electrification.
That means we can expect a range of mild hybrids and plug-in hybrids, with the latter expected to offer more than 100km of zero-emission range. The Audi A5 will be based on the MLB platform, which means it won’t have an all-electric version.
