You are Randelin living again in the golden age of its popularity. His gigs are attended by the fourth generation, as he has expressed.
Kauko “Kake” Randelin is a popular pop singer. In 1979, Randelin participated in the Autumn song competition with the song “I can’t sleep”. The song was eliminated from the competition, but it was performed in the program Syksyn Sävelen Karsitut.
Kake Randelin was signed to the record company and the golden celebration of hits began, such as with the songs “Nasta pimu”, “Tarja”, “Jannu huleton”, “Aava hakas” and “Kielletyt tuonten”. His first four albums went gold with sales of over 25,000 copies, with the Huoleton and Kop kop kop albums selling over 50,000 copies, reaching the diamond sales mark. In 1983, Randelin’s song “Aavaa Hakas” was chosen as hit of the year at the Emma gala.
The years passed and the general public, and especially young people, started to be interested in Randelin again, when JVG made their own version of Randelin’s hit from the previous years. JVG’s song Amatimies, which borrows Randelin’s hit Pakko pressinia longu pää, has been on the radio’s most played lists.
Kake’s concert calendar is already full for the whole of next year.
Below are pictures from the archive, this is how he looked when he was younger.
