This is what the cheapest Volkswagen Golf looks like

Volkswagen Golf recently celebrated its 50th birthday

On the occasion of the great jubilee, Volkswagen presented the first significant facelift of the eighth generation model, which over time gained such popularity that an entire class was named after it. Yes, it is the Golf that has been brought to the status of a deity in our region, and despite a slight decline in interest, it still has many fans today.

Volkswagen believes that the Golf will be one of the models that will be one of the pillars of development even during electrification. It is the Golf that should be the main support in these challenging times when we are talking about the penetration of the Chinese auto industry, and the shutdown of numerous factories in Europe, especially in Germany.

Even the biggest Golf fans know that the Volkswagen compact has not been the leader of the class for some time, running away from the competition by three steps. Probably, that advantage has completely melted away in some areas, but still – Golf is Golf.

That’s why we looked at what Volkswagen offers on the Golf in the official configurator. Since even the cheapest Volkswagen broke the 20,000 euro mark, it is not surprising that the Golf starts at 23,500 euro. It is now a version with a 1.5 TSI gasoline engine tuned to 116 HP, and that in combination with a six-speed manual transmission, he says. Index.hr.

The base version of the Golf comes with somewhat forgotten 15-inch steel wheels and 195/65 tires. Fortunately, the bumpers and mirror housings are in body color. Joking aside, the Golf initially comes with LED lights and gray color at no extra cost. White costs 340 euros, and metallic colors from 732 euros.

It is good that the standard equipment here includes standard safety assistance systems, but also automatic air conditioning, cruise control, digital cockpit and parking assistance. If you want a diesel with a basic equipment package, Volkswagen offers it (2.0 TDI/116 HP) at a price of 26,200 euros.

If we move from the configurator to the official price list, the offer starts from the 4Life equipment level, so the same gasoline engine with a manual transmission will cost you more – as much as 26,410 euros. The option with DSG gearbox starts from 29,670 euros, and the more powerful petrol version (eTSI/150 HP) with DSG from 32,064 euros.
