This is why you lose in FC 25. The developers finally got to work

Fraudsters are destroying FC 25, and their methods are sometimes impossible to detect. Fortunately, the creators finally took action and are launching a counterattack.

In my review of FC 25, I pointed out the huge number of errors, the lack of a Rush mode reporting system, unstable servers and many other shortcomings that make players’ lives miserable, preventing a positive perception of the production, even despite several leaking solutions in the new version. Have these issues been patched? Of course not. Instead, more obstacles were thrown at the players’ feet – although in this case it was the toxic community that was to blame for the whole mess. FC 25 is struggling with a wave of PC cheaters who are on the rise this year. Fortunately, EA Sports finally got to work. Beware, cheaters – a powerful ban hammer starts today.

A full arsenal of hacks – some you can’t even see

Cheaters are a constant element of online games and no matter how hard developers try, there will always be an irreversible case of a player who will find a way to bypass security and make the game miserable for his opponents. If this applies to games with a truly multiplayer format (I mean, for example, Battle Royal, where there are over a hundred people on the map), then you can somehow swallow it, because thanks to the scale effect, it spreads across the bones. In EA’s football games, however, we most often play in 1 vs 1 matches, so we experience all the negative consequences ourselves.

It took cheaters in FC 25 a while to figure out the loopholes that allowed them to gain an unfair advantage in the game. Today marks one month since the premiere, and the first two weeks have passed relatively peacefully. It’s only recently that we’ve started seeing tricks like the one below.

Cheater simply froze the opponent’s players, thanks to which he could make unhindered runs towards the goal. Unfortunately, this is just one example. Dishonest players use a wide range of hacks such as:

  • Lowering the AI level of opponent players
  • Increase the speed of your players
  • Automatically kicking your opponent out of the game
  • Teleporting the ball straight into the goal
  • Perfect shots that the goalkeeper can’t stop

It all depends on how brazen the hacker wants to be. Some people prefer to play normally and give themselves an advantage that is difficult to spot (e.g. by always passing perfectly) – while others simply throw you out of the game after scoring one goal and record an instant victory.

The good news is that cheats mainly occur on PC or when playing with PC players in cross-platform mode – I have not observed such situations on console. So if you own the computer version, all you can do is believe in the effectiveness of EA’s ban hammer. This one started today and is very brutal.

Lifelong ban from playing

Today, the first confirmed cases of bans for cheaters appeared both on social media and on Reddit. EA emphasizes in the announcement that this is about using exploits, but there is also mention of the use of external software and even intentional losing.

The penalty for breaking the rules is severe – the cheater may be banned from playing EA Sports FC games.

Your account will not have online access to any past, present or future EA Sports FC and EA Sports FIFA titles.

It’s good that EA finally got to work, but players in the comments rightly point out that this is only a partial solution. The account is banned and there is nothing stopping you from purchasing the game again and continuing to cheat. In this case, an IP penalty would be useful, but it is unlikely that the developer will make such a move.
