This manufacturer is once again organizing a recall campaign following a brake problem in the United States.
If you are a regular reader of Auto Plus, you probably know what brand we are talking about. In fact, not long ago, we reported to you a recall campaign in the United States for brake problems on certain models from… BMW !
Today, we learned that a new problem has been resolved, which once again requires the brand to organize a recall campaign, still in the United States. So of course, this new concern only concerns 270 vehicleshowever, these few models are added to the 1.5 million vehicles recalled at the beginning of September.
This new recall was organized to repair a bad welding on braking systems supplied by Continental. A serious failure since this welding problem can lead to a malfunction of emergency braking systems.
Once again, relations should become even more tense between the Bavarian manufacturer and the Continental company.
Another brake problem, then!
As we mentioned above, BMW already had to organize a recall campaign during the month of September. A reminder that concerned once again the braking system supplied by Continental.
And electronic component would be the cause of a failure of the regenerative braking system. In parallel with the recall, BMW had to stop production of part of its production in order not to put problematic models on the market. According to Automotive Newsfixing this issue is expected to cost almost a billion euros.
A hard blow for BMW which then announced revise downwards its financial forecasts for the year 2024. In fact, the brand announces that its profits would be significantly lower than the 18.5 billion euros carried out in 2023.
The same goes for the total number of cars produced by BMW for the year 2024. The latter should decrease, which is the opposite of what BMW had planned. It remains to be seen whether the various issues that led to recalls in the United States will also affect European models.
