He Lynk & Co 02 is a 100% electric crossover with 272 HP and up to 445 km of autonomy, which is now available in Spain from 35,495 euros. It is the second model of the Chinese brand under the Geely umbrella to arrive, after the Lynk & Co 01 hybrid SUV that has garnered so many sales, in part, due to its available payment methods.
With some levels of 4.46 m long, 1.84 m wide, 1.57 m high and a wheelbase of 2.75 m, the Lynk & Co 02 enters the fight in the C segment of SUVs, with rivals such as its ‘first cousin’ the Volvo EX40, the Kia e-Niro, the Renault Scénic E-Tech or the Skoda Elroq. Its competitive price and complete standard equipment are two of its main arguments.
A very interesting electric SUV below 36,000 euros, without discounts
El Lynk & Co 02, Called Z20 in China, it shares some components with the Smart #1, Smart #3 and ZEEKR Lotus or part of Smart.
For now, the Lynk & Co 02 will only be available in Spain with a single 272 HP engine and 343 Nm of maximum torque, which gives it 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. This engine is powered by a 66 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery, which provides the electric crossover with a range of up to 445 km approved in the WLTP mixed cycle.
When discharged, this battery can be plugged into 150 kW DC to recover from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes or up to 22 kW in alternating current. As usual, in the latter case the operation will take a few hours. In addition, the Lynk & Co 02 has the V2L function or Vehicle to Loadwith which it is possible to power small electrical devices.
In terms of available space, this 100% electric crossover has a cargo capacity of up to 440 liters, divided between the frunk front (under the hood) and the rear trunk, whose tailgate has automated opening and closing as standard. Regarding body colors, there are only three available: ‘Crystal White’, ‘Cosmic Blue’ and ‘Grid Grey’. The fourth, ‘Techno Magenta’ is expected in a few months.
In the equipment section of the Lynk & Co 02, we find two levels available in Spain: ‘Core’ and ‘More’. In both, elements such as Full LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, keyless access and start, 19″ wheels are already included as standard, multimedia system with 15.4″ screen and 10.2″ digital instrumentation, heated front seats. , dual-zone climate control, USB-C sockets for smartphones (and wireless connectivity for Apple and Android devices).
The superior one adds, among others, aesthetic elements such as tinted windows, 20” wheels, seats upholstered in synthetic leather or an interior lighting system. Besides, adds a 22 kW charger, heated steering wheel, wireless charger for mobile phones, an interior camera to take videos and photos, a 360º camera or a 14-speaker Hardman Kardon sound system.
The starting price in Spain for the Lynk & Co 02 with Core finish, with 435 km of autonomy, part of the 35,495 euros without offers or promotions of the brand or the discounts of the MOVES III Plan. With More finish, with up to 445 km of autonomy, the entry fee will increase by around 4,000 euros (to be confirmed by the brand at the time of writing this article).
If we compare the starting price of the Lynk & Co 02 With the starting price of its first cousin, the Volvo EX40, we see that the access version with a single motor and 69 kWh battery of the Volvo starts at 46,600 euros, or in other words, the new Chinese electric SUV is 11,105 cheaper. The first deliveries of the 02 are expected to begin before the end of 2024.
