AI wallpapers on Chromecast with Google TV
The Google TV Streamer has been improved in both hardware and software. The media player introduces new Google TV features, such as controlling your Smart Home, an overview of the best media for you and AI-generated wallpapers. The AI wallpapers are no longer exclusive to the TV Streamer.
Anyone who has a Chromecast with Google TV (4K or HD) now also has access to AI backgrounds. These replace the standard screensavers on your Chromecast and create yourself through prompts or templates. The feature will now be rolled out gradually, so it may take a while until it is available to you.
The function works as follows: when adjusting your background you will see the option “Custom AI Art“. Here you can choose AI backgrounds that have already been created or have your own created. To do this, you give a voice or text command. You can also choose to create an image based on example sentences. The AI can then get to work, just like in Android 14.
After generating the image will appear. You can then choose to save it, create a new image with the same prompt, or customize your prompt. The picture will be placed between your other backgrounds and AI Custom Art, where you can switch it on and off as a screensaver.

The Google TV Streamer is a worthy successor to the Chromecast. The media player has everything that made the Chromecast with Google TV so good and adds nice improvements. We are particularly pleased with the speed of the hardware: the TV Streamer is really a lot faster than its predecessor. The new remote control is also useful and the smart home functions work well.
