This part of the iPhone 17 gets a lot better

The iPhone 16 may have just been released, but rumors about the next iPhone are already pouring in. And one of the most used parts of the iPhone is getting a lot better for the base models.

According to analyst Ross Young, who has a good reputation, the iPhone 17’s screen will be a ProMotion screen. That’s an LTPO screen that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother images, but can also refresh much less quickly when a high refresh rate isn’t needed. This allows the iPhone to last longer on its battery.

Always-on display

In addition, the iPhone 17 will also get an always-on display, so you can always see the time without having to wake your phone from sleep mode. This function, together with the ProMotion screen, will also come to the iPhone 17 Air or Slim, the very thin smartphone that Apple will probably announce next year.

These features have been on the Pro models for a few years, but are now also coming to the basic models. However, the more expensive iPhones are still a step better, because the Dynamic Island with Face ID is supposed to become smaller. Apple wants to hide the sensors of Face ID under the screen, so that there will probably only be a small hole in the screen through which the camera can ‘look’.
