This PlayStation 2 inspired PlayStation 5 – looks amazing

This is what Sony’s ninth-generation console could look like if it had been released 24 years ago.

Released globally in the late 2000s, the PlayStation 2 was introduced as Sony’s second home console and was a huge success. It sold more than 155 million copies, making it the best-selling console in the world. It’s no wonder that it still has a huge fan base, whose members do everything to preserve the legacy of the PlayStation 2.

A guy-is-lit A Reddit user named is the other day r/playstation subreddit shared a picture that immediately became the center of attention. The player transformed a PlayStation 5 so that its appearance resembles Sony’s most successful console, the PlayStation 2, which celebrates its 25th anniversary next year.

For the project, the user used the Slim model of the PS5 released in late 2023, which originally had a white outer cover on both sides. The unique machine features a PS2-inspired PS5 logo on the console lid, while the classic PlayStation logo sits above the power button.

The end result was indeed quite sumptuous; you can see this below.
