The perfect vehicle for delivering pizzas

The car Domino’s DXP is based on the Chevrolet Spark. It has nevertheless been profoundly modified to meet the specific needs of pizza delivery people. The highlight is a built-in rear oven to keep pizzas warm while traveling. The model currently on sale has only traveled approximately 37,000 kilometers. According to its seller, it is still in perfect condition.

Original equipment includes functional oven, logos and accessories Domino’s of the time and a custom bodywork which leaves no doubt about his vocation. In 2018the content creator Samcrac bought a damaged DXP for approx. 500 euros in order to restore it. However, this adventure alerted the company Domino’s Pizza. She took issue with the use of her design and logos on the vehicle. At the time, a spokesperson for Domino’s Pizza explained to our colleagues Jalopnik this decision.

Trademark and rights issues

The company considered that the display of the logos and the brand constituted a violation of their intellectual property. According to Domino’sshowing the vehicle with its original markings could be perceived as unauthorized commercial use. Thus, Samcrac would have been forced to return the vehicle to Domino’sdespite several attempts to negotiation. Ultimately, this event shows that buying a DXP also means accepting possible legal disputes with Domino’s.

To avoid any problems, the simplest thing would be to remove logos Domino’s and customize the vehicle to your liking or for your own business. This should be enough to calm the ardor of the lawyers of the American brand.

Finally, buying this DXP presents benefits and disadvantages notable. This remains a unique and ideal vehicle for stand out in the delivery sector. However, the price is quite high for a converted Chevrolet Spark model. Plus, the legal risks associated with intellectual property may not be worth buying that car to deliver pizzas.
