In the United States, around a hundred Tesla vehicles suddenly disappeared after being stored for almost 6 years.
For years, a piece of land has intrigued Internet users because hundreds of Teslas new ones that were parked there. Today, this mysterious cemetery has been completely empty and this led to several theories.
The Intriguing Riddle of a Tesla Cemetery
On the X platform (formerly Twitter), a user, known under the pseudonym StillKickinwas the first to notice this strange space as soon as 20186 years ago. It already housed more than a hundred Tesla Model 3, Model S et Model X. Despite their slightly worn appearance, these cars looked brand new. Their unexplained presence on this site quickly attracted attention and sparked a wave of theories.
Thus, the speculations on the reason for this massive storage quickly emerged. Some have suggested that these were models rejected by dealerships due to minor issues. They would therefore be defective. However, others have suggested that it could be a temporary surplus of vehicles awaiting delivery. This could also be a logistics strategy of Tesla.
Dozens of Teslas were stored in Arizona for nearly 6 years.
Despite everything, a disturbing detail calls into question the idea of storage for resale. These cars were completely left out in the open. They were therefore not protected against the elements and bad weather in general.
A sudden disappearance which continues to fuel theories
A few months ago, in June 2024, this land was finally emptied. Cars used to be visible on satellite images and Google Street View. Now they are all gone. Moreover, this is not the first time that a Tesla “graveyard” has been discovered. In Australia, a port is already home to hundreds of abandoned electric vehicles. In this case, in Tempe, Arizona, the story remains quite unclear.
Following this unexpected void, Internet users did not fail to speculate. Some believe that Tesla would have recovered these vehicles to integrate them into its certified pre-owned program. Others believe that these electric cars would have been sent to the scrapyard or used for internal testing. It is also likely that these Teslas could have been sold discreetly abroad.
At the moment we do not have an official response. The fate of these Teslas remains unknown and speculation only reinforces this mystery. One thing is certain, this Tesla cemetery disappeared as suddenly as it appeared in 2018. Maybe these cars have finally found a new life, who knows?
