The next installment in a role-playing franchise will allow you to play a transgender character. Specific dialogues and a slightly modified design will accompany this choice. A representation that is still quite rarewhich should delight users who do not identify with the binary male/female system.
Play as a transgender character in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Video games are one of the most immersive forms of entertainment available. In this virtual environment, the user can become anyone, and create the identity they want. Society, which has become much more inclusive in recent years, has allowed transgender concept to also make its way onto consoles, such as with the Sims 4. It is now BioWare’s turn to announce that players of Dragon Age : The Veilguardwhich will be released on October 31, will be able to select the gender and pronouns of the character, Rook.
It will also be possible to do show scars simulating plastic surgery on the main character’s torso to signify their trans identity (if applicable). The dialogues within the game are also modified to be adapted to this choice. You will be able to choose this option a few hours after the start of the game, when you unlock Rook’s quarters in the Lighthouse base. When you arrange his roomone of the available objects, a mirror, will grant him a moment of reflection on himself. You can then flesh out their past and their personality, including their tattoos or their gender identity. When eventually defining him as trans, three options will be available to you : “I’m getting there“, “I love who I am” et “It feels good to see the real me.”.
It’s up to you to make your choice!
