This Volkswagen Golf is one of the rarest on the market!

A man has managed to make one of the rarest Volkswagen cars from the 90s even rarer with a unique transformation.

As a general rule, the Volkswagen Golf is not at all a rare model. However, there are some versions which are more sought after than others, such as Golf Harlequin third generation.

The sale of Harlequin Golfs was a failure for this dealer

The Golf 3 Harlequin was produced in 1996limited to a total of 264 copies. It is a real exception in the world of Golf. It stands out for its unique painting with several colors more or less disordered. Each element of body of this car had a different color. It is a unique model that only the most daring could have bought almost 30 ans.

The owner of several concessions, Jim Ellishad received several copies of Golf Harlequin for sale at the time. However, his unique exterior design did not do unanimity and he was having trouble selling some of the models he had just received. So he made the decision to repaint unsold items in a uniform color. This decision was bold given the initial rarity of this limited edition, but this has created a rarity additional for these new repainted models.

When failure turns into a stroke of genius

Recently, one of these Harlequin revamped East revenue on the front of the stage. It was spotted for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Its seller states that it is the only one that has been painted in bleu Chagalla special color. She wears the number 123 of the 264 produced, making it a very rare model and sought after by collectors.

Many purists do not agree with the fact that modifier rare, limited edition vehicles. Some believe this could make them lose valuewhile others like Jim Ellis were not afraid to do so when he was unable to sell some of his Harlequin Golfs.

Repainting Harlequin Golfs was clearly a bold decision. This ultimately created a new rarity for the special edition that contains a few vehicles painted in a different color than the others. The Golf Harlequin painted in Chagall blue is probably not the only one still in circulation that has a exclusive painting and not original. It would be interesting to find some of these unique and very rare vehicles.
