This way you will never be disturbed by annoying notifications

Using your smartphone in the car is a no-go, but with all those incoming notifications it is sometimes quite difficult not to take a quick look. It’s a matter of switching them off completely while driving.

Here’s how to turn off notifications while driving

Many Android smartphone users also regularly travel in the car. If you use Android Auto, you can easily listen to music, navigate to all kinds of places and easily stay in touch with anyone. You receive all kinds of notifications via the infotainment system, but that can also be quite distracting. Disabling Android Auto notifications while driving is done in three steps.

But what about if you don’t use Android Auto? Then incoming notifications may be a lot less secure. You then have to physically pick up your device to check messages and notifications. That is of course something you should never do and that is why it is wise to block all notifications while driving. Fortunately, that is very simple.

Grab your device and follow the steps below:

  1. Open the settings and tap ‘Google’;
  2. Tap the ‘All services’ tab;
  3. Scroll to ‘Auto’;
  4. Select ‘Silence notifications while driving’ and uncheck the box.

From then on, your mobile phone will detect that you are in the car and the ‘do not disturb’ function will be activated temporarily. Bluetooth and various sensors in your device are used to monitor and block notifications.

It’s a matter of setting it up once and you never have to worry about it again. That is of course a lot more convenient than having to manually activate the do not disturb mode every time before getting into the car.
