The next few months will be interesting for Volkswagen. The German brand has already confirmed the launch of one of its most important new models this year, sticking to its responsibility to shareholders.
Volkswagen had one of the most difficult years in recent times. In the past year 2024, the German brand suffered great turbulence, with a decline in car sales globally, and not only electric ones, which led to one of the worst internal crises in Wolfsburg.
As he states Klix.ba, before the giant from Wolfsburg is a very important period, in which they will have to combine savings with the launch of new models. For now, the manufacturer had to turn against his own decisions because if last summer he confirmed the disappearance of Polo, shortly before the end of the year he was forced to change his strategy and “sign a truce” with one of his bestsellers.
Volkswagen boasts two best-selling SUVs in 2024, but that’s not the biggest news for this year. The German brand confirmed the launch of the new T-Roc in its sales report for last year, pointing out once again that the Tiguan was the most popular SUV globally. However, since the introduction of the T-Roc compact crossover, more than two million units have been sold. That must not be ignored.
Two million units in seven years is a real success, if you consider that the first million was achieved in a little more than five years, and the second million in just two years. The T-Roc is a real golden chicken that the German giant hopes will increase its sales significantly until almost the middle of the next decade with a range in which, predictably, there will be no diesel engines, but hybrids.
The new T-Roc is now much closer to being unveiled, so it’s only a matter of time before Volkswagen starts releasing official information. Just a few weeks ago, one of its prototypes was caught in winter testing and another in development, so it’s more than ready to debut.
What we could see so far is a design that continues to respect the essence of the SUV form, a greater technological load and a new hybrid – as one of its stronger weapons with which they hope to remain the leader. This is the goal that Volkswagen will achieve if the new T-Roc is not too expensive, although an increase of around 2,000 euros is expected.
