Those responsible for the Valencian teaching staff resign in the middle of the conflict over hiring

The general director of Teaching Personnel, Sonia Sancho, and the deputy director of Teaching Personnel, José Pascual Hernández, have presented their resignation from their positions, which will be filled shortly in the Department of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment.

This has been pointed out to sources from the department headed by José Antonio Rovira, who have specified that both senior officials wanted to leave after the faculty awards last July, but the minister asked them to hold on at the beginning of the course, because the process had gone well. and that is when the results become evident.

The agreements signed with the previous government meant an increase in teaching staff by 5,200 teachers

The same sources have indicated that the resignation is not due, although it coincided in time, to the decision of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community to provisionally suspend the Generalitat’s denunciation of the agreements signed by the Ministry with the unions in June 2023 and the instructions approved in June of that year to define teaching staff in educational centers.

The agreements signed with the previous Botànic government meant an increase in teaching staff by 5,200 teachers, which had to be implemented in two years, but the current Consell appealed them considering that the public interests and the third parties involved had not been sufficiently considered.

The intention of the Department of Education is that the new heads of this general directorate and this subdirectorate are appointed in a matter of days.
