Thousands of Medan Residents Cause Daihatsu to ‘Break Up’ with Friends Gathering

DAPURPCUID – The closing series of the Daihatsu Gumpul Sahabat event which took place in Medan City, North Sumatra, succeeded in getting high enthusiasm from the local community.

This was proven by the presence of thousands of visitors who packed the venue at Benteng Field, last Sunday (10/11). Those who attended were customers, the Daihatsu car and two-wheeled community, and the public.

As a means of friendship and weekend entertainment with the family, this event presents a variety of exciting activities that can be participated in for free.

The series of activities include a culinary festival from local MSMEs, free health check and blood donation facilities, Posyandu facilities, as well as a community convoy (rolling thunder) of Daihatsu cars and two wheels.

During the event, it also left a positive impression on visitors and the people of Medan, plus residents also hope that this event will be held regularly every year.

Support for local MSME players

Throughout the event, various booths from local MSMEs also enlivened it. They present a variety of traditional culinary delights to those that are currently trending.

Daihatsu continues to support local MSMEs so that they can continue to develop. In fact, they are also helped by events like this, so that their merchandise sells well.

One of the MSME actors, namely Reni from Medan, expressed his happiness because he could sell at this big and busy event. Plus, many visitors sold their wares during the event.

“I have been in this business for five years. There are two of my businesses at this event, namely Rayna Smoothies, which sells drinks and Basoka, which sells grilled meatballs and ice cubes. “Hopefully events like this can continue to be held,” he said.

A similar positive response also came from another MSME actor, namely Edi Sudrajat. This man who was born in Medan was selling Korean street food during the event.

“I’ve been selling this for two years. There were so many visitors that our sales really sold well. Selling here is also free and free of charge.”

“Hopefully there will be more events like this in Medan City, because it really helps MSMEs like us,” said the man who owns the Baba Suka Suki shop, in his written statement.

Concern for Public Health

In line with one of ADM’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) pillars, namely the Healthy pillar, Daihatsu is collaborating with PMI Medan City to provide Blood Donation and Posyandu facilities for visitors.

As one of the visitors to this event, Alemmina Boru Sembiring also took advantage of these facilities. He admitted that he was quite active in blood donation activities.

“The body feels light and healthy. Apart from that, I can also help our fellow brothers and sisters through the blood I donate. Some time ago I also donated blood through activities at the office.”

“It’s fun to donate here, we can all go for a walk, watch movies, have a snack while listening to music and see the Nidji Band. “We are very happy with holiday activities like this,” he said.

Another positive thing was also expressed by one of the Posyandu visitors, namely Ameena, who said that this facility was quite helpful.

Initially I wanted to go for a morning walk while enjoying the weekend. When he saw the Posyandu facilities, he immediately took advantage of these facilities.

“I was helped by the Posyandu facilities at this event. Incidentally, I also checked the height and weight for my child. I can also check my health using a blood pressure device. “I’m happy to be able to join in celebrating the Daihatsu Gathering Friends of Medan event.”

“There are lots of activities and exciting events. For me, it’s good that Daihatsu has created a posyandu like this. At least you care about mothers and make things easier for us. “Thank you Daihatsu,” added Ameena.

Mobile SIM Services

One of the users of the Mobile SIM (Driving License) service, Adi Luhung, said that this facility was very helpful in the midst of weekend entertainment.

Adi explained that this facility is a reminder of the validity period of his SIM, and makes it very easy for the public and himself to extend his SIM here.

“I am happy that there is a Mobile SIM Service facility at this weekend’s entertainment event. “What’s more, at this event we can also take part in exciting and interesting activities,” he said.

Excitement from the Daihatsu Car and Motorbike Community

Idham Syafutra, Chair of Teruci Medan Chapter, said that he and his community with a total of 45 cars were present at the Daihatsu Gathering of Friends event in Medan.

“The Daihatsu Gathering of Friends event was really lively and the visitors were really busy, really packed. Plus there are good local bands, as well as the NIDJI band too. “This is a really good event, bro,” he explained.

Leni, Chair of Honda ADV Nusantara (Hantara) Medan Chapter, also conveyed the same thing. He and his community also enlivened the event and appreciated Daihatsu’s invitation to involve the motorbike community.

He said that he did not expect a 4-wheeled brand to embrace 2-wheeled brands. For his community, this invitation was a first.

“We welcome it positively, because it can extend the relationship not only with the motorbike community, but also with the Daihatsu car community. The event was very busy and exciting. “We can expand our network without limits,” he said.

As is known, the Daihatsu Gumpul Sahabat is one of Daihatsu’s efforts to get closer to the people of Indonesia and has been consistently held every year since 2014. (dpid/TH)
