Meta’s Q3 report:
275 million monthly threads users
This is what the thread ads could look like
As early as January, a small number of advertisers could have the opportunity to advertise on threads, as well The Verge reports. There is still no official confirmation from Metas. However, it is very conceivable that Meta will exploit the potential that the still young but already popular platform offers for advertising monetization. Next year the number of monthly active users could be over 300 million. Meanwhile, the social medium X is weakening in the face of the hardliner framework and is losing users; although some advertisers want to return to Elon Musk’s platform to exploit the new political power of the owner, who will receive a position in the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump. The Financial Times reports this.
But Threads Ads could also create a counterbalance to this development. These advertisements may appear like sponsored posts. Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered a possible early internal test months ago.

Official examples of possible thread ads are not yet known. In the USA, however, a post by social media great Kylie Jenner was posted and discussed some time ago, which already met various criteria for an ad, even if it was not official advertising.
We can now wait and see whether Meta will actually start integrating advertising in January and possibly make an official announcement in advance. For some advertisers this might be a nice Christmas present; The many threads users will probably be less pleased with this. But advertising on threads was almost unavoidable from the start if you look at Meta’s business model. After all, the group earns almost 98 percent of its income through ads.
