Three Israelis died in attack in the West Bank

Three Israelis died this Monday in a shooting attack on a bus in Al-Funduq, a Palestinian village in the north of the West Bank that is surrounded by Jewish settlements, according to an Israeli emergency service. According to this organizationamong the dead are two women in their 60s and a man in their 40s. Seven other people were injured, including the 63-year-old bus driver.

The Israeli Army indicated that its troops are looking for the perpetrators of this “terrorist attack” and that they have installed roadblocks on the roads near the site of the attack. Furthermore, they surrounded several villages.

Violence has increased in the West Bank since the attack by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Israeli territory, on October 7, 2023, which triggered the war in the Gaza Strip. Around three million Palestinians live in the West Bank occupied by Israel – since the 1967 war – and more than 500,000 Jews live in the same region in dozens of settlements, considered illegal by most of the international community.
