Three people have been charged in connection with singer Liam Payne’s fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
This is stated by the Argentine prosecutor’s office according to Reuters and AFP.
The autopsy of the former One Direction singer has shown that the Briton had traces of pink cocaine, alcohol and antidepressants in his blood when he fell to his death.
The three arrested persons are charged with supplying and facilitating narcotics. One of them is also charged with leaving a person in a helpless state, writes AFP.
The persons were all close to the 31-year-old Briton, the prosecutor says. One was employed at the hotel, while another is suspected of being a pusher.
They all had their daily routine around Payne during the singer’s vacation in Argentina.
The accident happened at the Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina’s capital on October 16.
Liam Payne fell from a third floor balcony.
The singer sustained several injuries and both internal and external bleeding after falling from the balcony, it was said on top of the autopsy. When Payne fell, he was not fully conscious, the report said.
The police found several types of drugs and alcohol, which were scattered among broken objects and furniture in the hotel room.
The pop star is father to a seven-year-old son with British singer Cheryl Cole.
He was dating Kate Cassidy, who was also on holiday in Argentina. She flew home two days before he passed away.
Liam Payne was part of British pop group One Direction, who went on hiatus in 2016 and never got back together. Payne tried to forge a solo career but did not achieve the same success.
The sudden death caused great sadness in the music community, among fans and the former One Direction members.
