Two leading computer scientists, Will Custer and his friend Max Waters, work on their technological miracle, while the radical anti-technology organization RIFT – Revolutionary Independence from Technology, fights against the creation of a world where computers can surpass the capabilities of the human brain.
Will is on the verge of creating a machine with artificial intelligence and human emotions that can surpass the capabilities of the human brain. Controversial experiments made him famous but at the same time a target of radical activists who do everything to thwart his project. His wife Evelyn and his friend Max become aware that they can no longer control Will, who craves more and more knowledge and power.
