Accident on the A15: a man dies in Pontremoli

A tragic accident occurred late in the afternoon of July 25th the A15 motorway towards La Spezia, at the height of Pontremoli. A man died after being hit by his own car.

According to the newspaper’s website The nationthe victim allegedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving and would have been thrown out, on the road. However, it was not the impact with the ground that killed him.

Rescue efforts after the accident

Several witnesses reportedly saw the accident happen and called for help, which arrived immediately on the scene, but found that the victim was already dead. The paramedics then turned their attention to the driver of another car involved in the accident.

After losing control, the car that hit and killed its driver crashed into another vehicle, with the driver a woman who would have remained slightly wound.

The driver of the second car was immediately rescued by the 118 paramedics who intervened on the spot, but her life is not in danger and she only suffered minor injuries. However, she was transported to the Apuane hospital for tests.
