Thus AI accelerates the innovation of braking systems

Artificial Intelligence is increasingly used. In the automotive sector, one of the most recent uses concerns braking systems. Brembo used Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI to develop ALCHEMIX, a solution capable of generating innovative formulas for brake pads.

The project was presented on the occasion of the Italian stage of the Microsoft AI Tour, scheduled today in Rome, from CEO MicrosoftSatya Nadella, who illustrated this and the experiences of other Italian organizations that are successfully integrating cloud and generative AI.

Why use AI

Brembo has integrated AI into Research and Development at the Brembo Inspiration Lab located in California (USA), in Silicon Valley. The first result obtained was the significant reduction in time to develop new formulas, it went from days to a few minutes.

ALCHEMIX has also allowed us to explore unconventional research and development paths, immediately identifying errors and improving the formulas for braking materials.

L’AI Tour in Italia

The Italian leg of the AI Tour follows Microsoft’s recently announced major investment in Italy – amounting to 4.3 billion euros over the next two years – to expand its hyperscale cloud data center and Artificial Intelligence infrastructure with objective of helping the country maximize AI opportunities, as well as a digital skills training plan for over 1 million Italians by the end of 2025.

With this investment, the Cloud Region italiana it will become one of Microsoft’s largest data center regions in Europe and will play a crucial role as a hub not only for Italy but also for the Mediterranean and North Africa.
