Knot tying is one of Ilze Vainovska’s creative expressions. She admits: “Everything complements each other and comes together as beautifully as in the folk song: “Go, Laimiņa, you go ahead, I’m in your quotes.” As soon as you hit Laima’s quotes, you meet the right people.”
To another shore
Some, looking for creative ideas, produce Pinterest or YouTubebut Ilze Vainovska simply tried to come to terms with her life. In 2014, a regional newspaper Course Time the management offered the reporter to switch to part-time work, so Ilze terminated her employment completely. Thinking about the future, she saw one idea in the raw amber collected on Liepāja beach. She knew she didn’t want to drill or polish it, but to make it wearable.
“At that time, beads, rishas and jabo, which are associated with femininity, came into fashion, but I have always been a tomboy, I like brevity. I have two sons and a desire to do meaningful things. I think about what kind of jewelry suits guys, how amber can become an amulet. My first The tangled ambers were bought at the Karosta photo plein air and the idea was enthusiastically accepted I rushed to the Sea Festival. Thanks to the then head of Grobiņa Parish, Aivars Priedol, who bought and suggested to continue like this,” Ilze remembers.
