(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Ho-gyun Ahn = Video platform TikTok is diversifying its revenue model by launching ‘TikTok One,’ a new platform that connects advertisers and creators.

At the ‘TikTok Creator House Media Workshop’ held at Peaches Dowon in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on the 24th, Jeong Jae-hoon, the head of operations at TikTok Korea, said, “TikTok One is a platform that acts as a marketplace connecting advertisers and creators.” He added, “There were similar programs in the past, but we plan to integrate and improve all of those functions and relaunch them.”

TikTok One is a collaboration where brands propose campaigns or sponsorship programs and creators participate in them. It is scheduled to be launched in Korea in the fourth quarter of this year.

TikTok expects this feature to lead to more active collaboration between creators and brands starting next year.

Along with this, TikTok introduced a new monetization program that will be introduced in the future at the event.

The paid subscription feature, which is currently only available to live creators, will be expanded to include general creators.

The subscription feature was introduced to create a bond between live creators and fans. Subscribers can pay a monthly fee to the creators they support and receive benefits such as exclusive content and access to exclusive communities.

The basic subscription fee is $5.99, but creators can choose a price ranging from $2.99 to $99.99, and set three subscription tiers.

Going forward, this feature will be available to all creators with at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 views in the past month, regardless of whether they are live creators.

“Creators have been consistently requesting that they provide special videos or events to their fans,” said CEO Jeong. “This feature will help creators build more loyal fan communities.”

The ‘Creator Rewards Program’, which provides financial compensation for high-quality original content longer than one minute, is significantly expanding its scope of application.

Currently, this program targets creators with more than 50,000 followers in Korea, but starting in the fourth quarter of this year, the criteria will be relaxed to creators with more than 10,000 followers.

The explanation is that by strengthening rewards for quality content, creators and the TikTok ecosystem can grow together.

“All the monetization programs we’ve explained are for good content created in accordance with TikTok’s guidelines, and only adults can participate,” said CEO Jeong. “We’re putting a lot of effort into creating a safe platform environment.”
