TikTok again faces the risk of a US ban if its parent company ByteDance does not sell the platform’s US operations by January 19. According to the latest information, Elon Musk appeared among potential buyers. Bloomberg reports that Chinese government officials are considering selling TikTok’s US operations to Musk’s Company X, reports PhoneArena.

Discussions suggest that if the sale were to go through, Musk’s X could take over management of TikTok and merge it with its existing platform. TikTok, with more than 170 million users in the US, could significantly increase X’s overall appeal to advertisers.
