Time to vote for the new leadership in SYRIZA

Countdown to the SYRIZA elections, with the polls to elect the new leadership opening at 8am tomorrow, Sunday (24/11). As long as it is needed, there will be repeat round next Sunday, December 1st.

The big bet for Koumoundourou is the largest possible participation of the party’s members and friends in the electoral process, at a particularly difficult time for SYRIZA-PS, as it has now lost the role of official opposition after its latest independences Theodora Tzakri and Iota Poulos. It is noted that on Saturday (23/11) Stefanos Kasselakis announced the name of the new party, “Democracy Movement”, and presented the founding declaration.

As Koumoundourou announced, SYRIZA-PS is fully prepared ahead of the presidential election process on Sunday (11/24). In the previous days, he says, they took place two informational teleconferences with Electoral Commissions from across the country regarding the election process.

Specifically, the vote on 465 polling stations will start on 8 am and will end at 7 p.m.

It is noted that right to vote have all and everyone from the age of 15 and over, who are either members of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, or register as members of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance even on the day of the elections, Sunday 24 November, on site at the polling stations. Those who are already members and those who register on voting day can vote in any polling station throughout Greece, even if they are outside their electoral district.

It is pointed out that voters should have with them an identity card or passport or driver’s license or health card. Citizens of other countries, such as the European Union or third countries or immigrants and those who are under 17 must show a legal document that shows their identity, as well as their AMKA.

The last messages of the candidates

The candidate presidents completed their pre-election activity on Friday night (22/11), each of them setting out their vision and programmatic positions for the next day of the party, in the shadow of the departures of a number of MPs and executives from all over the country.

In the last hours before the polls opened, they sent a call to the friends and members of the party for massive participation in the electoral process.

“From Sunday, we will once again make SYRIZA-PS the support of Greek society”, points out Socrates Famous.

“For me, SYRIZA and the Left have always been my political home and when you see your home being destroyed, you have to do what you can and what you have to do,” he says, among other things in a video he published on social media.

“I decided to run for the presidency of SYRIZA “Progressive Alliance” so that we can finally speak politically and seriously and oppose strongly, firmly and with confidence against a government that is losing its legitimacy in the eyes of the Greek people every day”, emphasizes Nicholas Farandouris in his own video posted on social media.

“With a vision, a plan and SYRIZA in front, we are moving forward dynamically towards the future of the progressive faction!”, he notes in his post.

Pavlos Polakis publishes a video of his pre-election speech in Athens on social media, noting “Together for the Honorable Greece we deserve. On Sunday we vote for SYRIZA”.

“On Sunday we are voting for SYRIZA PS, the essential opposition today, whatever they do… the second time left, for the people…”, Apostolos Gletsos says in his post.
