Design and ergonomics: we change everything

Without making a comparison between the Floor S7 Pro and its predecessors, the new model from Tineco operates a nice evolution. The ABS plastic present on the body of its vacuum cleaners is replaced by a wood effect coating (but still plastic), and the rod of the S7 Pro now sports a metallic finish with an assumed premium effect. On the cleaning brush too, we will come back to it, the result is much better finishedwith a larger cleaning surface announced, and (finally!) the ability to clean the skirting boards on either side, where older models suffered from their asymmetrical design.

On the front, we find the dirty water tank, with a capacity of 700 mL, while the clean water tank is now relegated to the back. A smart choice on the part of the brand, which until now was content to superimpose the two on the front. Now, there is no risk of confusing the two, as sometimes happened to us on the Tineco Floor One S3. The capacity of the device does not change compared to the latest models, with the promise of a cleaning of 450 m2 in a single recharge.

When it comes to ergonomics, you don’t change a winning team. Tineco’s connected washer offers a pleasant grip with soft-touch plastic, six control buttons and a large 3.6 inch control screenon which it is possible to choose the language settings. At startup, we are thus entitled to a complete tutorial in French, perfect for those who would not have the courage to read the entire manual. In use, the color screen is very beautiful, and offers an overall view of the device, with the remaining autonomy, the chosen mode, the water flow, the suction power, and the possibility of muting the sound.

A brush reviewed and corrected

On its S7 Pro, Tineco has clearly gone all out on the brush. The latter does not fundamentally change, but is now accompanied by a slew of new features. For example, the presence of a directly integrated engine. This addition may seem anecdotal, but it actually changes a lot of things. We were able to see during our test, no loss of power is to be deplored in terms of rotation, which greatly improves the quality of cleaning, and avoids premature wear.

In the packaging of the S7 Pro, we find an additional brush. A welcome accessory, but above all necessary, since if the self-cleaning mode turns out to be rather effective, the drying function is largely insufficient to prevent the proliferation of bacteria and bad odors. It’s a real shame on this type of device.

However, we appreciate the addition of a double squeegee for cleaning of the brush during washing sessions, as well as the presence of a LED backlightlike what the Tineco Pure One Station vacuum cleaner offered. The addition is certainly a gimmick, but it allows you to better see the impurities on the floor. Once you’ve tried it, it’s hard to do without it.

A vacuum cleaner that can do everything (or almost)

Cleaning is a mere formality at Tineco. The dirt level detection is automatic, and promises to adjust the amount of water in real time for ever more effective cleaning. Once the clear water tank is filled (it is possible to add a little detergent, but be careful to respect the doses and the type of product, otherwise your living room will be transformed into a foam party), the device works wonders. The rotating brush goes everywhere, leaving very little dead space around the baseboards.

Its main interest obviously lies in its dual function vacuum cleaner and floor washer. Without completely replacing a classic stick vacuum cleaner, the S7 Pro does very well on dry dirt. It also offers a dry mode, which will simply collect dust on the floor. Tineco’s new-born is clearly intended to establish itself as a multifunctional and unique washer. It’s not perfect yet, but we’re getting there.

In wet mode, the device can handle any spilled glass of water, and is also very good at stains, without leaving any residue after its passage. The electrolysis of the tank coupled with the possibility of putting a water up to 60°C are quite unique, and provide an extra layer of cleanliness. Another nice touch: the Tineco Floor S7 Pro electrolyzes clean water before it passeswhich ensures perfect cleaning, free of microbes and bacteria. Gadget, but still nice to look at.

If the latter is more than dispensable, we will quickly focus on its application iOS et Androidrather fluid and with a well-designed interface. The fact remains that like us, you will probably never use it as it is so useless on a daily basis.

The king of handling

In everyday life, the Floor S7 Pro is very efficient, but above all it is very pleasant to handle. The motor in the wheels accompanies the movement during cleaning, both forward and backward. The S3 model was often criticized for being too heavy and difficult to maneuver, with Smooth Power technology, Tineco learns from its mistakes. The vacuum cleaner is no less heavy than its elders, but it definitely gains in maneuverability.

If the autonomy of the tanks remains substantially the same compared to the old models, the electric autonomy is revised upwards. The brand promises 40 minutes in fashion Automatic, a figure slightly below what we measured. So we are on an endurance champion, nothing to say on that side.

Price and availability

On the market since the beginning of 2024, the Tineco Floor S7 Pro is very good, but it is also very expensive. Expect to pay around €700 to treat yourself to the brand’s latest innovations (currently on sale for less than €500!)Fortunately, it is regularly available on sale at retailers.
