Nicolae Ciucă, former prime minister, asked on Friday, November 15, the presidential opponent, Marcel Ciolacu, to make an effort to find the plane ticket that shows that he did not go to Nice with Nordis money.

“Mr. Ciolacu, make a little effort to find the plane ticket that shows that you were not out on Nordis’ money?”, wrote Ciucă in a post on Facebook.

The PNL leader’s reaction comes after G4Media reported that PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu, Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu and PSD deputy Laura Vicol together with their children flew from Monaco to Bucharest at the end of May 2022 on a private jet chartered by Nordis after having was at the Formula 1 Grand Prix, multiple political and business sources told G4Media.ro.

According to the journalists, Alfred Simonis was also on the plane, without children. The real estate developer Nordis, where Laura Vicol’s husband is a co-shareholder, is now insolvent.

The Nordis scandal comes rolling over PSD-Ciolacu

PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu admitted in a dialogue with G4Media.ro that he was in Nice in May 2022 with his son to see “the only Formula 1 race in my life that I went to with my son”. but claims to have flown to Nice by airliner. Asked if he returned from Nice with the private jet Țiriac Air, Ciolacu denied. The same Marcel Ciolacu vehemently denied, on Wednesday evening, when he was asked, in London, by the G4Media.ro reporter, if in 2022 he was in France, in Nice.

“In 2022 I was in France? In Nice? I think you are confusing me. We are more than Ciolacu”, the PSD leader declared on Wednesday evening. “I have never benefited from a service paid for by the Vicol family. Plane, tickets of any kind, hotel or anything else. I have never been to any private event in my life with Laura Vicol”, Ciolacu also declared for G4Media.ro.
